The high dose flu vaccine, specifically made for people over the age of 65 years, will be made available within the coming weeks.

what to expect when you arrive for your flu shot.

What to Expect

Please bring the following items with you to your flu shot appointment:

  1. Your own pen

  2. Wear a short sleeved shirt

  3. Wear a mask

  4. Your health card

  5. Be asymptomatic for COVID


When you arrive for the flu shot clinic at the Manitoulin Central Family Health Team, you will be greeted by a team member in the parking lot and directed as to where you should park.  Please remain in your vehicle and a team member will come and administer a COVID-19 screen to you.  You will be asked to sign a consent form and then prepare your arm for receiving the flu shot.  A nurse will then come and administer the flu shot directly to you, without you leaving your vehicle.


You are asked to remain for 15 minutes after you have received your flu shot to ensure that you do not have an allergic reaction.
